About

Uma Tyasning Paramita

Hello, I’m Uma Tyasning Paramita, the founder of Kaluma.

Kaluma grew from a simple belief: every person has a story worth telling, and within that story is the power to create, connect, and inspire. For more than 25 years, I’ve worked as a creative director, educator, and storyteller, walking alongside individuals, women, and communities as they rediscover their voices and embrace their creativity.

To me, creativity is not only about making something new. It is a way of remembering who we are, honoring the wisdom of those before us, and shaping a legacy for the future. Through Kaluma, I’ve created a space where art, education, and cultural preservation come together—a garden where expression, community, and heritage grow side by side.

Here, you’ll find circles that nurture women’s voices, programs that empower neurodivergent creatives, collaborations with maestros, and everyday products that carry the spirit of creativity and tradition.

I invite you to step into Kaluma’s garden, to explore, to grow, and to share your story with us.

With warmth,

Uma
